Hollow City: The Second Novel of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children

Hollow City - Ransom Riggs More of a 3.5 star read. Again, I really enjoyed this but I didn't love it. I'm not sure what it is about it that bugs me. Maybe its the old people that still act like small children? The author gives reasons for it but I don't know I still find it weird. But anyway, I really enjoyed some of the other peculiar children getting the spotlight in this book, Hugh especially. I will be reading the third book to find out how everything turns out.

The Short Stories of HP Lovecraft, Volume 1

The Short Stories of HP Lovecraft, Volume 1 - H.P. Lovecraft More of a 3.5 star read. This was my first foray into Lovecraft, as with most short story books, I loved some and some were just meh. I was really excited for the Call of Cthulhu, add is the one most people have talked about to me, but was a bit disappointed. My favorite story was The Thing On The Doorstep.

The 5th Wave

The 5th Wave - Rick Yancey At first, I didn't think I was going to like this. The female protagonist Cassie is extremely annoying in the beginning. She's rude and just gets angry at the most ridiculous things. Thankfully she gets better as the book goes moves along. I am usually pretty good at predicting what's coming in books, so I was pleasantly surprised when the author had me second guessing who the good guys and bad guys were. While it wasn't super action packed it was well paced and kept my interest. Overall, a fantastic start to the series. Looking forward to picking up the next one.

Saga, Volume 5

Saga, Volume 5 - Brian K. Vaughan, Fiona Staples Completely addicted to this series now!

The Moon and More

The Moon and More - Sarah Dessen A very slow paced read but I still really liked it. Dessen just knows how to suck me into story even though I'm not typically into ya contemporary. I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I have read by her and this one is no different.

Saga, Volume 3

Saga, Volume 3 - Brian K. Vaughan, Fiona Staples OOOOOOO...Its getting good!

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - Ransom Riggs More of a 3.5 star read for me. I enjoyed it, but I wasn't sucked into the story. I will probably check out the next book in hopes I get more involved in it, since the story is an awesome concept.

Saga, Volume 1

Saga, Volume 1 - Brian K. Vaughan, Fiona Staples I had my doubts when I first started this, but it is definitely interesting. Not something I would typically read, but I'm trying to branch out.

Blackout

Blackout - Mira Grant This book got a little weird. Saw the weirdness coming but was hoping I was wrong. But whatever. Satisfying ending to a fantastic series. I didn't like this one as much as the first 2. The beginning was quite slow and it didn't really pick up till about halfway through it. But I'm still pleased with how everything played out.

Onyx

Onyx - Jennifer L. Armentrout More of a 3.5 star read. I wasn't as into this as I was the first one. It was good but was very slow. Everything seemed to be packed into the last few chapters. I find it more difficult to read a book when there is a character that I despise, and well Blake. I just .. ugh, no. The males in this series are just blech! I like Daemon quite a bit more than previously though. I am going to read the next book because overall it was still a quick fun read, but I do hope the awesomeness of the first book comes back.

Burned

Burned - Karen Marie Moning So, not much happened in this book. There were a few WTH moments, but for the most part it was uneventful. That being said it is still worth the read. I actually read a bunch of bad reviews for this book, needless to say I was worried I wouldn't like it. But no worries because I enjoyed this more than I did Iced. Mac is BACK ... ish. lol Finally, we get a little more background on Dani. We got a POV from Lor, and I do love him, he just makes me giggle. A lot of people didn't really care for the direction Moning went with this book, but I didn't mind. I'm still invested in the series and that works for me!

Obsidian

Obsidian - Jennifer L. Armentrout So I pretty much loved this book. 90% of the time I wanted to throat punch Daemon, but even so I didn't want to put this down. It is an interesting story that isn't something I would typically read. Aliens aren't normally my thing.
I'd forgotten how much tension YA books have.I really enjoyed Katy's friendship with Dee, Lesa, and Carissa, reminded me if high school.
Overall it was a fun and fast read. *sigh* looks like I'm off to Amazon for book 2.

Iced

Iced - Karen Marie Moning So I decided to change my original rating of 5 stars to 4 stars, mainly because of creeper Christian. Not sure why I just completely overlooked this on the first time around but it was just awful. I loved him in all the Mac books but now, well just eww. Other than that I loved it. I love the whole fever world. Moning knows how to suck you into the story.
I'm not usually into Fae books, but I am now more willing to give them a try after reading this series. I'm excited to finally get to read Burned!

The Calling

The Calling - Kelley Armstrong I think I probably should have reread the first book before starting this. It hasbeen awhile so I had forgotten alot.I liked it but was not as engrossed as I think I could have been.

Insurgent

Insurgent - Veronica Roth More of a 3.5 star read. I couldn't get into this one like I did the first one. It took me over a year to finish it lol.

Deadline

Deadline - Chris Patton, Mira Grant, Nell Geislinger Hell yes! I was enjoying this book but only planning on giving it a 4 star (not that, that is bad) and then I got to the last chapter and now I have to have the next one, like right now!!!!
